A meeting point for you and me

I did enjoy Christmas… when I was a child

I still enjoy Christmas now, but that’s mainly because I’m on holiday on those days. That’s the truth: it’s a relaxing time for me, so I can enjoy it the better. But  I still miss the way I felt when I was a little girl and Christmas time was there again. That was fantastic! We were only four people at home during that season, but I didn’t mind; it was all fun and expectation for me. I did enjoy Christmas then!

I’ve chosen this children’s song because Christmas is really the best time of the year for them.

You know Dasher and Dancer
and Prancer and Vixen;
Comet and Cupid
and Donner and Blitzen –
but do you recall
the most famous reindeer of all?

Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer
had a very shiny nose,
and if you ever saw him
you would even say it glows.

All of the other reindeer
used to laugh and call him names.
They never let poor Rudolph
join in any reindeer games.

Then one foggy Christmas Eve,
Santa came to say,
“Rudolph, with your nose so bright-
won’t you guide my sleigh tonight?”

Then how the reindeer loved him,
and they shouted out with glee,
“Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer –
you’ll go down in history!”

Vocabulary

I Wish You All a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
