Commercials and jingles.

One of the first commercials I best remember is probably a Spanish one that said, “Es el Cola Cao desayuno y merienda…” But in my life I have heard many others whose catchy jingles -often in English- have made me hum to myself. This is not a tall tale, I promise.

2BenCarpenterAP_468x374A tall tale or tall story is “something that someone tells you that sounds so exciting, dangerous, unpleasant, etc that you do not believe it is true” However, the story of the three-wheel racer we talked and read about last day is based on true facts, as I told you. If you still have some doubts,  here is part of an interview with the ‘lucky’ racer and a news article on the unbelievable incident.

A shark stuck into the roof!

If you ever walk along New High Street, in Headington, near Oxford, you’ll be astonished by the sight of a giant shark on the roof of one the terraced houses. The gigantic sculpture, which sticks out from Mr Bill Heine’s house roof, is made of fiberglass and has been a centre of interest since it was placed there, in 1986.

The reasons behind Mr Heine’s controversial decision to have this amazing shark planted on top of his house are revealed in his book The Hunting of the Shark. Personally, this is probably one of the most eccentric ways to make your house stand out. Well, in fact there are quite a number of ways to make a house distinct and unique; have a look at these:

Would you accept to live in any of them? Which?
